Race held above Fairview, Utah on Skyline Drive

8th Annual Race! This is a vintage race for 1985 and older leaf spring snowmobiles. It is called a Snocross but will be more of a Lemans type course with lots of turns. It will be held above Fairview, Utah just off Skyline Drive on February 23rd, 2019 You can pre-register by going to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2019-utah-vintage-snocross-snowmobile-race-tickets-54100396743 or by calling 801-785-2244 Early registration is $35 until February 21st, 2019 and registration the day of the race will be $45 You can early register by credit card online but only by cash the day of the race. The entry fee is just to cover the cost of insurance and race expenses. All racers must have a race number on their sled. When you pre-register you can also reserve a race number. If you register online call us with your number choice. First come first served on choice of numbers, no duplicate numbers in the same class.
SPORT Anyone 16 & older that is just racing for fun, not too serious
PRO Anyone 16 & older more serious about racing. Includes anyone who made the PRO finals in previous years or top 3 in Sport.
MASTERS Anyone 50 & older
POWDER PUFF- All Ladies 16 & older
YOUTH- Age 8-15 (If there are enough entries we will split this into an older and younger group)
SNOWBALL EXPRESS CLASS- This class is for any 1972 and older snowmobile and each entry will have (2) riders that are 8 or older. Both riders race together and switch drivers every lap.
Note: The same sled may be run in more than one class using the same race number, but two people may not run the same sled in the same class. For example- Someone could enter the Pro class and then their wife could run their sled in the Powder Puff and their son in the youth class.
1- Open to any 1985 & older stock snowmobile with leaf spring front suspension. This includes fan, free air, and liquid cooled sleds.
2- Engine must remain completely stock from the carb to the exhaust box. Air box can be removed.
3- Track must be original or stock replacement. No deep lug tracks or traction aids allowed.
4- Stock steel skis must be used with steel wearbars(no carbides) loops must be padded(you can just use pipe insulation and duct tape)
5-Hood must remain on sled, windshield and headlight/tail light may be removed or modified.
6- Suspension must remain stock
7- Running boards may be modified or traction cleats added
8- Stock steering post and handlebars must be retained but may be modified or hooks added.
9- Any seat can be used that maintains a general vintage look
10- Brakes may be changed or modified for safety
11- Snow flap must be in place
12- Oil injection may be removed.
13- Tether is required so that it will kill your machine if you fall off.(They are cheap and easy to install)
14- If the rules don't state it can be changed then it must remain stock.
15- For the "Snowball Express Class" the engine and sled must be 1972 or older. Tether, snowflap and padded skis required. No other rules for this class.
The purpose of the rules is to make sure everyone is competitive and racing is inexpensive and safe.
